//Newsletter No 23 – Winter 2016

This edition of our newsletter celebrates, in words and pictures, the centenary of the declaration of Mt Field National Park, Tasmania’s first national park, in 1916 (it was followed later the same year by Freycinet National Park).

We also take a brief look at:

  • Tourism development proposals for national parks, both under the government’s EOI process as well as outside it.
  • Proposed expansion of Freycinet Lodge into the surrounding Freycinet National Park.
  • Changes to Tasmanian planning legislation.
  • The current status of proposed changes to the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area management plan.
