The Spero-Wanderer Wilderness is a 138,000 ha wild region south of Macquarie Harbour. This book, published in 2025, presents the compelling case for the addition of the Spero-Wanderer area to the adjacent Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.

The opportunity remains for a major rationalisation of land tenure within then Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. A reduction in the plethora of land parcels and tenures, could improve protection and would greatly simplify management.
