The State government promised $20 million at the last election to develop Tasmania’s ‘Next Iconic Walk’, intended to be another hut-based multi-day Three Capes Track-style development. We were quite critical of the planning and eventual result of that development (see here).
After an internal assessment process the Tyndall Range was announced as the government’s chosen option for the ‘Next Iconic Walk’ in July 2019. We have prepared a background report describing the current state of play.
