Report

Following a recent update from PWS, we have prepared the attached to summarise the background and current situation with this project. In essence, as far as the government is concerned, it seems it is full steam ahead, with a Development Application (DEPMP) for the project likely to be released early in 2024, and completion of construction currently planned for 2029. Most of our original fundamental problems (see here and here) with the project remain, plus some new concerns have recently come to light.

TNPA remains of the view that the Tyndall Range is an inappropriate location for the proposed walk development and that the expenditure of the $40 million budget on other options could have benefited West Coast tourism just as much, or more.
