Funded by a State government election promise, Waterfall Valley is the first of several overnight nodes on the Overland Track being redeveloped. Initially approached as part of “targeted stakeholder consultations”, we made a number of criticisms regarding the inadequacies of the Reserve Activity Assessment (RAA) and the selective consultation being undertaken. Subsequently repackaged for public comment, the RAA documentation still fails to encompass the full breadth of changes proposed or desirable for this iconic site.
